L.E.D. 2. Who'd of thought that would ever happen?
Well, the idea actually hatched about a year ago, a while after the realization of the story of L.E.D. and how my life actually followed it. When I first made L.E.D. it was supposed to be the beginning, middle, and end of the story. It was supposed to end there, which is why I never picked it back up. In general, I didn't want to ever continue a montage, because they all have separate and important meanings, but after so many people asked about L.E.D. 2, I thought about it, and decided I couldn't because as I said, the story was supposed to end there.
Well, then this lady named Jenn came into my life, and L.E.D. became something even more in my life. It became not only the story of my past, but the story of my present, and in that moment I realized that a sequel could be possible because my life was continuing down the path of L.E.D. So, my brain started to think of how I could possibly follow L.E.D.'s story, and realized that because Jenn is the embodiment of the evil character in L.E.D., she could take the part of the antagonist in the sequel, with me as the protagonist.
So I came up with a story based off of what else, our life. But the story is taking a turn in that Jenn is now this evil source that won't leave, so in a sense, L.E.D. was more nonfiction where Precious will be fiction. Afterall, Jenn isn't actually evil. This was one of the reasons I decided to call the sequel Precious, as opposed to L.E.D. 2. The other reason was that I wanted to open the video up to people who had not seen L.E.D. And L.E.D. 2 is kinda awkward to say and write.
There was something bothering me though. How can I follow up L.E.D.? L.E.D. is most likely the greatest video I have ever made, and I fear making a sequel will simply sink under the original. Well, first of all, if it does, it'll underline the greatness of L.E.D., and who says that's a bad thing? However, this fear led me to make a giant leap in my idea, and I decided to include all call of dutys in Precious. This will inevitably include Black Ops 2, as well. As much as I'd like to make an all CoD4 montage again, we all know no CoD4 montage I can make will stand up to L.E.D., period.
I still have many ideas that I have formulated over the past year that were not seen in this trailer. The trailer was actually a product of a few months, mostly due to the fact that I realized the 1000th video was coming, and I wanted to do something special. But, Precious was an idea before the 1000th video crossed my mind.
One of these ideas is the main song of the montage. The song I used in the trailer is planned to be in the montage, but I didn't want the montage to be all dubstep, because L.E.D. isn't founded on dubstep. So, I will say that the main song in Precious will NOT be dubstep. It will be very close to the original L.E.D. song, I Like To Move It.
And I guess everything else will have to be kept secret for now. I hope you enjoyed this recollection of my experience so far, and I hope you all will enjoy Precious when it comes out in 2013.
