Freaking nailed it. Late to the party, i know, i know, but seriously. This game kicks ass on so many different levels. I've noticed with the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation changes in gaming that we can all see, emphasis on money *cough cod, cough bioware* charging for dlc already in the game etc, rushed development cycles etc etc etc. One of my own personal thoughts of this generation was that it was full of average games. The graphics, sound, mechanics etc were obviously all majorly improved from the PS2 but what i felt alot of games lacked was the 'fun' factor. Few games really stood out for me as being great in comparison to the huge list i can name of PS2 + PSX games i can still revisit today and have a blast, but i think the PS3 will gather dust in the corner more than these two as the ages go by. Who knows i might be wrong.

But rockstar freaking got it spot on.

I love GTA V. It's truly one of the best games ever made in my opinion. Grand Theft Auto IV was acclaimed by critics and praised by many for it's story and setting but where i thought it lacked was in fluidity in gameplay and customization. The sluggish control just made it unbearable for me as an experience and i couldn't bear sitting through hours of sweaty gaming sessions like i do with GTA V. From one of the trailer it says how all of the mechanics have been refined to feel fun and responsive and i can certainly feel that. The driving is a blast, it feels like midnight club packed into Grand Theft Autos open world gameplay and the Los Santos 2013 is an awesome world to explore.

Oh btw, post pics of your gta stuff if you want - cars, clothes etc. I would incl a picture but it's actually my gf's copy i'm playing so i wont have it back for a couple of days but i'll be sure to post a pic of my Franklin $wag then Wink HE BEATS ALL OF YOURS.

Oh and MadMike, i'm curious as to know what your thoughts on the game are. I know you really like Rockstar aswell but i'm wondering how feel it compares to RDR since you really enjoyed that title.

I think singleplayer wise, GTAV was a big step up compared to IV and was what I expected from Rockstar. I personally think RDR is a better solo story and I enjoyed it more, but GTA improved a lot on it's GTA franchise in a good way. The characters were diverse and hilarious. The enviornment was realistic and looked great for being on the PS3. Even the missions ranged from difficulty and how you handled the situations.

Multiplayer wise I feel needs work, but this is pretty much the first huge jump into a solid MMO-type multiplayer system that has a lot to do compared to RDR's lack of missions online and so on. It needs work, but I personally have fun with it when I can and just wish it was fixed a bit more or they had a little bit more control over it.

As for posting pics, I probably have showed a lot in GTA Thursdays videos alone, and whatever I'd post would probably change in a week since I tend to morph and switch things constantly.

The game overall is a step in the right direction with the franchise. They kept it fresh and open to many different scenarios, but still needs work in online areas and control over it. I'd probably put the game in my top 15, maybe even 10, if I broke my list down.

Does anybody want an opinion from a non-GTA fan?

......no?

Well here it is anyways. Although I'm not much of a fan of GTA I do think V has a big enough variety that everybody can get some type of enjoyment out of it.

So there's that. Smile

Personally I enjoy the whole atmosphere of the game much more than IVs whole grungy theme. Hell, even the music choices in this one appeals to me so much more than IVs music.
