Owl City Empty
PostSubject: Owl City   Owl City EmptyMon Oct 22, 2012 12:33 pm

Anybody else here an Owl City fan?

To be honest I rarely listen to him now, but three years ago I was obsessed with him, and I still think he is an awesome artist. His music was just something different, it made you think, but it wasn't over the top different like Lady Gaga or pretty much everybody in mainstream now, including dubstep even. His music was more of an art, it was something we had never heard and probably will never hear again.

I hate to admit it, but his song Fireflies is what got me into him, but not because it got so popular. I hate to be all hipster, but I really did get into him before he got famous. A friend of mine lent me a cd and was like just listen to this, and the rest was history. Then Fireflies got popular, and i began to hate it, but then one day I listened to his other songs, and omg it was incredible. So everybody was going around like Fireflies, Fireflies, and I was in the background going "bro, listen to Cave In, Tidal Wave, and The Saltwater Room."

But anyways, just wondered if anybody had the same experience, or listens to his current stuff.

Actually the exact way it happened for me. Except the CD, and the listening to a lot of his other stuff.

I feel like that's what happened to a lot of people! People liked him, he got popular, they stopped liking him. You gotta listen to his other songs!

Yeah i love his old stuff like on the Ocean Eyes CD...actually it was Death who got me into him XD but i just don't like the new stuff where he is doing things with other artists where it tries to be more of the mainstream pop and rap stuff.
