Because death said it was good. And I like it so far. The only thing that gets me is the control scheme, but that's only because I'm so used to the PS3 scheme.

Awesome, I've been wanting to get it too, and with it out on Steam now I have no reason not to. But I wanna play FFVI first. I hear its in the running for best FF game. I'm really looking forward to 9 though, what with the setting

The best final fantasys in terms of amount of fans: 1. FFVII 2. FFIX 3. FFVI 4. FFVIII & FFIV & FFX
To me: FFVII = best story and gameplay mechanics FFIX = best environment and characters FFVI = best villain and music

FFIX is my third favorite only recently topped by FFX. But for a long time it was very close to FFVII in my heart, the atmosphere in that game is just amazing, it makes you want to live in that made up time period SO BAD. Plus the story is nearly as compelling (more compelling to some people) than FFVII. Just takes a little longer to get going in my opinion, and the final boss battle was always kind of stupid to me.
